4G real-time "watching" Yulong Snow Mountain: China has successfully developed the first glacier real-time monitoring system
4G real-time "watching" Yulong Snow Mountain: China has successfully developed the first glacier real-time monitoring system
On November 19, www.reference.com reported that Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao website recently reported that China has successfully developed the first set of glacier real-time monitoring system, which has been used in Yulong Snow Mountain. At present, the monitoring data can be updated online every 5 minutes.
The new media quoted the news released by the surging news that the above achievements came from the China Antarctic surveying and Mapping Research Center of Wuhan University and the Yulong Snow Mountain cryosphere and sustainable development field observation and research station of Northwest Institute of ecological environment and resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as "Yulong Snow Mountain station").
The observation data of the system can be transmitted in real time through 4G and published online through the network. Users can view it online through browsers and mobile phones at any time. It can greatly reduce the intensity and potential risks of manual monitoring of high-altitude glaciers, and improve the continuity, accuracy, timeliness and online visualization of data collection.
The system is composed of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), laser ranging, camera, meteorology, ice temperature, seismograph and other monitoring modules. Based on the ice velocity data monitored in real time by GNSS, researchers can distinguish the glacier movement status and potential glacier jump phenomenon.
In July this year, the system hardware was assembled in Baishuihe No. 1 glacier of Yulong Snow Mountain. Through system debugging, the real-time information of glacier movement, such as ice velocity and material melting of Yulong Snow Mountain, was successfully obtained. In October, the joint R & D team of Wuhan University and Yulong Snow Mountain Station upgraded the system by adding meteorological parameters such as temperature, humidity and pressure and real-time video modules. At present, the system can update the monitoring data online every 5 minutes.
The system is deployed in Yulong Snow Mountain to verify the long-term observation technology and method of glacier and environment. If it is effectively verified, it can carry more sensors to obtain the multi-element observation data of glacier. The system is compatible with a variety of sensors, integrating data acquisition, transmission, analysis, warehousing and release. It has high real-time performance, has the characteristics of self controllable software, customizable and expandable hardware, and has laid a solid foundation for the follow-up "one station and four areas" (the "one station" refers to Yulong Snow Mountain station, and the "four areas" refers to Gangri Gabu, Meili Snow Mountain, Gongga snow mountain and Dagu Snow Mountain) typical glacier real-time monitoring and fine research.
